(ii) a subject of Nepal
(iii) a person of Indian descent who has immigrated to India permanently from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.
As long as a candidate falls under categories (ii) and (iii) above, they must be people.

Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of NDA: For the NDA’s Army Wing, you must have completed your 12th grade under the 10+2 schooling pattern or have passed a test of equal difficulty administered by a state education board or university.
(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Pass the 12th grade with math, physics, and chemistry using the 10+2 schooling schedule, or the equivalent exam taken at a state education board or university.
